Once a year, the NZIPP (New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography), host the big annual Infocus Conference and Iris Awards – a chance to put your work up against your peers, and also hear some inspirational guest speakers.
This year it was hosted in Auckland, over six days, from 1st to 6th August. It was our first year attending, we were stoked to see our images judged, and received 7 awards out of 10 prints we entered.
The atmosphere within the live judging rooms was tense – but very exciting too when people received a great score. It’s inspired us to reach for greater heights within our own photography, and we’re super excited for our upcoming wedding season.
Our highlights of the event was getting to meet so many wonderful photographers and making many new friends. It was also a pleasure to see Gregory Heisler (portrait and TIME photographer), and also Trey Ratcliff (HDR guru) – who’s now based in Queenstown.
