Northland Wedding Photographer | Shayni & Micah

I was privileged to capture Shayni & Micah’s wedding in early 2014.
Definitely the coolest wedding I’ve ever captured.
I spent three days amongst their family and friends, enjoying the beaches, stunning views, and swimming amongst the marine life around Matapouri, Whale Bay, Woolleys Bay and finally finishing up the adventure with an underwater shoot at the Poor Knights.

Shayni & Micah live in Dubai, with Shayni growing up on the Tutukaka Coast, and Micah originating from the good ol’ USA.  (with his entire family travelling to NZ!)

Shayni got ready at the stunning Lighthouse Lookout, with their ceremony taking place against the water at the Lodge @ Matapouri

Thanks for having me!

The following morning, we took the Perfect Day boat out to the stunning Poor Knights. I was invited along a few days before hand, so ended up bringing the dive housing. At the last minute, it was decided we would do an underwater drown the gown session. Safety being of absolute paramount. Fortunately Shayni’s dress was super light, and she’s a PADI dive instructor – and Micah, well he’s a professional sky diver. No issues there!

We were fortunate to see two Bryde’s whales, plenty of fish and very calm seas.

And a couple of snaps from the weekend – the ever-stunning Whale Bay, Woolleys Bay at night time, and a campfire on Matapouri Bay.
